Navigating the New Canadian Food Guide: A Menu Development Perspective for Early Learning & Child Care Providers

SECA invites you to join Megan Wallace from Sprout Nutrition as she hosts an informative webinar to discuss a crucial aspect of Early Childhood Educators responsibilities: providing nutritious meals to the children under our care. This presentation will cover recent updates to the Canadian Food Guide, and how we can adapt our menu development strategies to align with the latest nutritional guidelines.

Megan is a Registered Dietitian of Sprout Nutrition. As a mom of three, Megan is no stranger to the challenges that come with work-life balance and keeping small children alive. She leans on her background in education to support her practice, but also has a wealth of practical and real-life experience when it comes to feeding small children with less stress (can't guarantee less mess).

Please note this webinar is for those operating Early Learning and Child Care programs in home based settings only at this time. This webinar will be free to  those who hold valid SECA group or family program memberships. The fee for non members is $25.00.

You will receive a confirmation email immediately following your registration, and  you will receive the link to join the webinar via email within one week of the webinar.

BALANCING LIFE WITH HUMOUR

The trick is not to look down and but ahead…

Kate Davis has the unique ability to find humour in any situation and after being quarantined, diagnosed positive and fighting Covid19 she realized being able to adapt to circumstances beyond our control allows us to explore creative solutions that can be applied to every area of our lives. Nothing is predictable anymore but finding that routine, like getting dressed at least from the waist up or establishing a dedicated workspace that isn’t next to the fridge helps to defuse the frustrations of our circumstances and find a little normality in a challenging time. Kate’s generous insight and outspoken character provide a powerful combination to help organizations empower their staff with effective tools for managing stress and sustaining motivation. Like the 3 Do’s “Do one thing for yourself. Do one thing for your home. Do one thing for others.

Between our jobs, home, relationships with family, friends and co-workers learning how to balance our new lives demands a strong sense of Personal Development and most importantly a Sense of Humour.

People, who participate in Kate’s online “Balancing Life with Humour” keynote, leave with an understanding of practical techniques for refueling, rediscovering and reengaging their true selves and finding a balance. Learning to use humour as an instrument of communication creates an atmosphere of compassion, caring and productivity.
